That’s why I recently completed the U.S. Coast Guard’s captain’s class. It wasn’t just about earning a credential—it was about sharpening my skills, understanding maritime safety inside and out, and becoming a better captain for the people who trust me with their time and their lives.

The course dives deep into navigation, weather patterns, emergency procedures, and the rules of the road out on the water. I spent hours learning how to handle real-life situations—from avoiding collisions to managing emergencies calmly and effectively. We trained on reading nautical charts, using GPS systems, and planning safe routes based on tides and conditions.
