The full moon period has the walleyes on the move across Otter Tail Lake, and trolling crankbaits is one of the most effective ways to cover water and locate active fish right now.
Fish are relating to weed edges, mid-lake structure, and shallow feeding flats during low-light periods. Recent Minnesota reports show walleyes feeding during early morning, evening, and after-dark hours, with crankbaits producing consistent action.
Best Pattern
Troll crankbaits in 8-12 feet of water along outside weedlines and structure transitions.
Focus on the hour before sunset through midnight, and again before sunrise.
Wind-blown shorelines and points are holding the most active fish.
Use planer boards to spread lines and cover more water.
